MICHAEL P. SULLIVAN

Michael P. Sullivan is the Director of Institution Relations and Public Affairs at Chautauqua Institution.

At Chautauqua Institution since 1998, Mike is responsible for all marketing, public relations, ticketing, sales and communication activities. He previously worked as director of public relations and marketing at Highland Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. As a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Sullivan earned his APR (Accredited in Public Relations) and served as president of the Rochester Chapter of Delegates to the PRSA National Assembly.

Since moving to Chautauqua County from Rochester, Mike has served and continues to serve on many boards of directors, including WCA Hospital (secretary 2008—present), the Holy Family Catholic School, Jamestown Chamber of Commerce (president 2000—2003), Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation (president 2006—2007), Chautauqua County Visitor's Bureau (president 2004—2006) and the City of Jamestown Strategic Planning Committee.

Mike is exemplary in that he not only gives of his time and resources, but he does it with excellence. He is much respected by his colleagues and the many other community leaders who seek his opinion and follow his advice. Mike is much sought after for the key leader role in his community affiliations. He is a treasure who by his actions considers his home of eleven years to be a treasure too. Mike sets an incredible standard for all community leaders to emulate and he does it with a wonderful sense of humor.

Mike's interests in the community spill over into his hobbies which include The Unexpected Guests Comedy Improv Troupe, which he has been a part of since 2008 and his activities on the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena floor as a player with the Jamestown Adult Hockey League since 2000. Mike enjoys life and all around him do also.
